Ordering an ORIGINAL Jerry Armstrong Painting:

We have very few, if any originals "on hand" but Jerry Armstrong will paint any fall, astronomical dynamic,
Paleolithic scene (or other topic) anyone would like to order. While he will not "reproduce" another painting
(except via Giclee) he will paint the same fall or solar system phenomenon from a different perspective
(IE: "Sikhote-Aline Impact" - "Sikhote-Aline Ground Zero")
It should be noted that the price paid for an order is the minimum price charged for that size. When Jerry paints an
original that was not ordered, it may be a little more or a great deal more expensive depending on the amount of
detail, time and overall appeal of the work, whereas one ordering gets the minimum price, regardless. In addition
the price on 16" X 20" paintings will increase on Jan1,2009 from the current $600 to $750, so, orders received
before the end of the year will still get the rediculously low price of $600 for the fall of your choice.
Ordering an original requires no down and the payment at time of completion. Time to paint an original
can Take from 2 weeks to 6 months depending upon Jerry "getting a vision" of the perspective he wishes to utilize
and getting in touch with "the muse." Jerry also prefers to talk to anyone ordering an original to be sure you are both
"on the same page."
All his paintings are researched for accuracy and night falls always include the proper constellation alignments.
Originals are an excellent investment and can only increase in value.
Originals are priced as follows:
16 X 20 = $600
24 X 36 = $2,500
24 X 48 = $3,500
36 X 48 = $5,000
48 X 72 = $10,000
(Fine detail increases with canvas size. Jerry worked a full year on the last 48 X 72 painted)

NOTE: Jerry Armstrong is a membes of the IMCA so, you can rely on his honesty and integrety.

IN ADDITION, Jerry prefers to talk individually to everyone who orders an original painting
prior to beginning the piece, however, Jerry wants all payments to be handled by me, his agent.
So, please ORDER Originals, Giclees and Enhanced Giclees DIRECTLY FROM ME. (Do feel
free to contact Jerry from any site his paintings are featured, but he prefers only to paint
and will refer you back to me to handle any and all payments.)
If you would like to discuss the possibility of an original painting of your choice with
Jerry, let me know and I will foreword his email address and phone number to you.
He will consult directly with you to work out the perspective you want, but he sticks
to the facts.

None of the photos on this site may be printed without violating Jerry's copyright of all his
work. Besides, even on the larger "click-to images, are only set at 72 DPI and would result
in poor prints. If you want to order an 8 X 10 high res photo of any of his paintings, Jerry will
reproduce it and sign it for you for only $10.

The Methane Geysers of Pluto

Original (24 X 48) Privately owned, but Available = $3,500.oo the original price.
NOTE: Original is sold - only Giclees are available
The ice geysers of Pluto are mostly methane and are frozen to a solid at that distance. When either tidal forces or
at it's closest approach to the sun, it is heated just enough to sublimate (turn from a solid to a gas), sometimes
explosively. This "stuff" then shoots straight upward violently for 8 to 10 kilometers in this very rareified
atmosphere. However, at about 8 to 10  Kilometers - above the surface there is a "jet stream" wind. At that level
the outgassing is carried downwind at right angles by the "jet stream." A most impressive sight and very "other-worldly."
While this scene is a product of Jerry Armstrong's imagination - this phenomenon was photographed by Voyager on the surface
of Triton, and Pluto's atmosphere is theorized to be similar. The New Horizons space craft will reach Pluto in July of 2015.
The crescent moon, Charon dominates the right portion of the painting and our sun, 4 Billlion miles away, is seen on the left.

GICLEE PRINTS
(Pronounced "Zee-Clay")

The highest quality of art reproduction today is the giclee print on canvas. Only recently has
the giclee print become widely received by galleries and even collectors as a legitimate print and
Jerry has always been one step ahead in this arena.

The advantage of giclee over more traditional reproductions such as lithographs lies with
the technology. Giclee prints are simply a digital print, usually made on a wide format inkjet
printer with archival inks and printed on canvas.

In addition to the more versatile nature of printing, giclee prints have a wider color gamut which
means better color accuracy and less trial and error in order to get the print right. This is because all color
settings are handled through software on a computer or installed on the printer which reads the data of a
digital file. Compared to any of the other means, this insures the best print possible

Furthermore, each print is individually produced and then Jerry Armstrong, himself, signs
and dates the back of the reproduction. In addition:

ENHANCED GICLEE
service is available. With this option, the print is extensively touched up, repainting the highlights
and all areas which will enhance the painting, giving the viewer an image that really "pops"
when viewing it. As with all the Giclees, Jerry Signs and dates the back of the canvas, which verifies
that all the aspects of this piece are exclusively the work of Jerry Armstrong."In other words, it is, to
some degree, "repainted" and will, therefore, come off looking much like an original, evenclose up.
Would you like yours enhanced?
(It is the only way I would Go, but it is a personal preference thing).
